Responsibilities -

Working within the QAQC department of the Company and included in the training programme of Fearnley Group. Duties will also involve performing QAQC duties which will include but not limited to the following: 

  • Working alongside Fearnley Group’s Senior QAQC Engineers that are assigned to the Client/Contract, who will be assisting in the implementation of the training program

  • A good understanding of Oil and Gas Drilling Tools and Well Completion Equipment Specifications i.e. API Spec Q1, API Spec 7-1, API Spec 7-2, API 5DP, API Spec 5CT, API Spec 6A, DS-1 Specifications, Fearnley Group NS-1™ and NS-2™ Specifications

  • A good understanding of ASTM Specifications related to Mechanical Testing and Non-Destructive Examination

  • Implementing Third Party Mill Surveillance on Oil and Gas Drilling and Well Completion equipment according to Inspection Testing Plan / Quality Control Plan

  • Implementing Third Party Surveillance on Equipment assembly and disassembly

  • Keep daily/ weekly log of working / training activities

  • An understanding and following to the provided Fearnley Group Training Matrix or Program

  • Implementation of Inspection Programs and Standards

  • Third party monitoring of inspection companies

  • Producing the third party reports covering your work activities

  • Knowledge for the release and verification of Drilling and Well Completion equipment

  • Monitoring of equipment assembly and disassembly

  • Witnessing of pressure testing, etc. as per customer requirements

  • Working in accordance with the Companies Procedures and Quality System

  • Implementing Fearnley Group’s inspection standards NS-1™ and NS-2™ along with clients’ other standards such as DS-1 and API where applicable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the different standards

  • Drillstring Failure Prevention

  • Drillstring Equipment Technical Procurement

  • Drillstring Equipment Pre-load out Audits

  • Auditing and Equipment Qualification, etc.

  • Auditing of machine shops, supply companies and pre-load out equipment verification checks in accordance with Fearnley Group inspection levels and checklists

Qualifications -

Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Materials Engineering / Metallurgy

  • Petroleum Drilling Engineer

  • Understanding of basic engineering drawings and technical specs

  • Familiarity with welding processes, NDT, and material inspection

  • ISO 9001 and industry codes/standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) awareness

  • Good English ability of read, write, listening and speaking

  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Word, report writing

  • Basic knowledge of HSE practices

  •  Strong communication and reporting skills

  • Willingness to travel to project sites / fabrication yards

  • Attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn from senior QC engineers and TPI reps
