About the Role -

The Financial Systems Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the development and implementation of new system interfaces—particularly for automating invoicing and payroll processes—across the Finance department. Working closely with internal departments and external developers, the Financial Systems Project Assistant will ensure seamless communication, effective documentation, and the efficient tracking of project milestones and budgets.

Responsibilities -

  • Assist and support the development and implementation of new systems, focusing on interfaces to automate invoicing and payroll processes.

  • Collate, organize, and circulate all relevant project and system information within the Finance department, under the direction of the CFO

  • Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, including IT, Operations, and HR, as well as with third-party developers and vendors.

  • Draft and maintain comprehensive operating procedures and manuals for the new systems being implemented.

  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to the CFO, ensuring transparency and accountability across all project phases.

  • Track and report on all financial outlays related to the project, in coordination with the Accountant, ensuring budget adherence.

  • Support the CFO in preparing and delivering presentations to Senior Management, highlighting project status, risks, milestones, and outcomes.

Qualifications -

  • Proven experience in systems project development, with an appetence for innovative solutions, such as AI tools

  • Understanding of financial and payroll systems is a plus

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar)

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Sense of organisation and self-drive

  • Budget tracking and financial acumen

  • Degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, or related field; PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus
